Sizzix/Tanya Whelan Happy Birthday Card in a Box

I love the Card in a Box Sizzix die, which also includes die cuts for the pinwheels and clouds!
This was such a quick card, using Tanya Whelan 'Bella Rose' papers by First Edition.
I also added on a little sunshine from Lil' Inkers.

I attached the pinwheels on acetate strips, and decorated the front of the box with a Spellbinders die (Decorative Labels 8), and Sizzix nesting labels.

Purple Onion Design Stamps Happy Travels Sizzix Flip-its Card

Just to let you know there are 4 more days of Purple Onion Designs' 25% off everything sale!

Here's a card I made with a stamp set from POD, which I really like, called the Traveler Set.
I just coloured the images with Copics, cut them out and popped them on the Triple Circle Flip-its card.

The papers are from Stampin' Up, and I drew the wooden sign post myself, and added another stamp from the set for the sentiment.

Pop it Ups Purple Onion Designs Flower Bouquet Thank You Card

Purple is not a colour you will find me using all that often - I don't seem to own much purple crafting stuff, or be particularly drawn to it, but I do quite like how this Accordion card turned out!

I used stamps from Purple Onion Designs, and dies by Karen Burniston from Elizabeth Craft Designs - the Katie Label Accordion set.
Papers are from Stampin' Up.

I coloured the flowers with Copics, cut around them, and wrapped a bit of paper around the stems, tied with twine (from Stampin' Up). I added Ranger Crackle Accents to the flower centres for a bit of extra interest.

Purple Onion Design Stamps Anniversary Sale & Bakery Birthday Card

I really enjoyed making this card... fun stamps, Copic colouring and pretty colours...

For my card, I hand cut out the Bakery after colouring it, glued on some buttons which I added thread to, and used a Stampin' Up die set for the speech bubbles. I attached the stamped parts with foam pads.

Pop It Ups Zebra (Cocoa the Horse) Birthday Card

OK, so I made a Cocoa the Horse (by Karen Burniston for Elizabeth Craft Designs) card a little while back, with Cocoa made into a Unicorn, and now I'm sharing the next card in my 'Cocoa the Horse & Lorna Label' series... this time with Cocoa as a Zebra!

I had so much fun making this card!
I hand drew the stripes onto Cocoa, with a fine Sharpie pen, and added a party hat & party blower from the Props 2 set. I then added lots of balloons (cut with dies from the Sizzix Balloon Step-ups Card set) and added some of them on clear acetate strips to the Lorna label pop-out part, so they would stand more forward.
I printed out the quote which I had typed out.

I just added a few strips of paper, some pompom trim from Stampin' Up, and a Happy Birthday by Paper Smooches, backed with Elizabeth Craft Designs double sided tape.

Finally, I rounded off the edges of the card with a Zutter Round-it-all.

My 'Cocoa the Horse & Lorna Label Collection'!!

Karen Burniston's August Designer Challenge - Tent Scene Pop it Ups Card

Our Designer Challenge this month is called 'Inspired Creations', and I love it! Karen's Design Team are to pick any project from any of the past Designer Challenges, and use it as inspiration for a new card.
I had a lovely time going back through old Designer Challenge posts - there were tonnes of great ideas to choose from, but I think because I just spent the week before last on our church girl's camp, that Raquel Mason's fabulous tent card stood out to me, and I used it for inspiration for my card.

Raquel adapted the Barn Pop Stand die set to make a tent, and added trees from the All Season Tree die set. Isn't it such a brilliant card?!
You can find Raquel's original Barn Tent card blog post here.

I used the Pop Stand die cutter (from the Barn Pop Stand set) to create flaps to which I attached four trees (from the All Seasons Tree set). I glued the outer branches of the front and back trees together.

Next, I cut two barn shapes, and trimmed the bottoms of the barns down a bit, so they could just fit under the tree branches. After cutting a slit in the front barn piece (and making holes with a Crop-a-dile), I attached the barn pieces onto the tree trunks, and used double sided tape to stick the two tent halves together at the top.

Then I added lots of foliage to the trees, using the cloud dies from the All Seasons Tree set, and added a string of bunting to one tree (with flags from the Lots of Pops die set), and I hand cut a little bird house (plus used a heart punch) for the other tree.

I then added twine and brads to the holes I'd made with a Crop-a-dile, to be little guy ropes.

Lastly, I added a white strip of card stock, with pink scalloped borders (made with a scallop border punch), and added a heart, and pink glitter lettering cut with the Alphabet 1 - Caps set.
The card is for someone who helped out a lot on our camp!

Sizzix Framelits Tag Card

I love the 'Sizzix Framelits Die and Clear Acrylic Stamps - Tags' set, which includes lots of different sized and shaped tag dies, plus co-ordinating stamps, such as the ones used here.

I used the largest die in the set to make a card, by leaving the folded edge of a folded in two piece of cardstock inside the top of the die.

Pop It Ups 'Cocoa the Horse' Unicorn Birthday Card, from Karen Burniston's Farm 2 Collection

Hello! I'm back with a card made with a die I love from Karen Burniston's new Farm 2 Collection from Elizabeth Craft Designs - 'Cocoa the Horse'.

I animated Cocoa on the Lorna Label PopUp card, and added a cut-by-hand unicorn horn and shadow, to make a very sparkly pink unicorn card!

I hand cut clouds to add to the front platform of the Lorna Label, and added stars cut from a Tim Hotlz die onto strips of clear acetate.
The rainbow and individual clouds are from a Sizzix die set.

I used a Sizzix On the Edge die for the scalloped edge, and a Birthday die from Marianne Designs.
The papers are from My Mind's Eye.

Just to show you some of the layers a bit better...

I had so much fun designing this card!

The Cocoa the Horse die just gave me so many ideas! Here are three cards I made in my 'Cocoa the Horse & Lorna Label' set! I'll show the other cards in greater detail in future blog posts...

Tim Holtz Butterfly Frenzy Sizzix Card in a Box

I have a new favourite die! - the Card in a Box from Sizzix - it's really quick to put together, and includes the layer pieces, and inner divider pieces too (plus clouds, banner and windmills!)
For this version, I added floral papers from First Edition's Floral Pavilion pad, then on one of the flaps I added a Spellbinders frame die, and layered it with banners from the new Sizzix Alphabet Banners set.

To decorate the box, I added a glitter card '40' (cut with a Stampin' Up Sizzix Alphabet die set), which I glued to acetate, and attached to one of the inner dividers with tape runner.
I used Altenew 'Vintage Roses' stamps, hand cut them out, and attached them on acetate strips too.
Finally, I also added the Tim Holtz butterflies on acetate strips.

This picture shows the inner dividers better. It's actually quite a simple card, but I think it looks effective.

Sizzix Banners & Flip-its Cards

I absolutely love the new 'Alphabet Banners' Die and Stamps set from Sizzix - I like how each of the banners has little holes for twine, plus a perfect shadow die too.
For this card I stamped the letters (from the stamp set which comes in the package) with VersaMark ink, and heat embossed white embossing powder.
The clouds are from the Hello Sunshine Triplits set, also from Sizzix.

This card uses the Regal Flip-its die set, along with gorgeous little flowers from the Sizzix Friends Forever Step-ups Card die set, and a tag and stamp from Sizzix's new Framelits Die and Clear Acrylic Stamp Set - Tags and Words.

Homegrown Holidays - Karen Burniston's July Designer Challenge Card

This month our challenge theme is 'Homegrown Holidays' - to celebrate Christmas on the Farm!
Karen Burniston has just announced the release of two fantastic new collections for Elizabeth Craft Designs: Farm 2, and Merry and Bright, and we're combining them for this challenge!

For my card, I decided to make a double Pop Stand, by taking a long piece of cardstock, folding it into thirds, and adding the Barn Pop Stand to the back fold, and the newly announced Fence Pop Stand to the front fold.

This is my card without the animals added. I used a die from the Beach Edges set to cut large snow drifts for the top and bottom of the card, to which I added gold glitter card strips and a hand made bow.
I added the barn parts, along with Christmas lights from the Holiday House die set, which I decorated with Glitter Dot stickers. I also added two small snow drifts with a die from the Garden Bench set.

I stamped woodgrain (with a Stampin' Up stamp) onto the Fence parts, and assembled it with one Pop Stand base die cut in the centre of the fence, and attached the two outer sides of the front and back fence parts.
I then used wide Double Sided Tape also from Elizabeth Craft Designs, on the back of black cardstock, and cut the sentiment with the Alphabet 1 die.

I then stuck four of the Farm Characters to the fence, including the new Cocoa the Horse.
I also added a hand cut path to the barn.

I added Santa hats from the newly announced Props 5 die set to all my characters, plus a few bits of hand cut holly.
Finally, I used one of the new Merry and Bright Clear Stamps to make a little sign to hang over the fence for the first part of my card's sentiment.

The card can still fold up!

Bon Voyage Pivot Card

Just a nice simple Pop It Ups Pivot card today, with stamps from Purple Onion Designs.
I used the Katie Label Pivot Card die with thick patterned cardstock, and used the same die set to cut the layers on the pivoting parts.

I coloured the stamped image with Copics, and cut it out by hand, then used some stamping mask paper to cut out a clouds outline, and airbrushed grey Copic marker for the sky.
I stuck on the plane with foam pads, and added some extra cardstock to the outside of the card to cover over the gap left by the pivoting parts.

Sizzix Circle Flip-its, with Hello Sunshine and Spring Birds Triplets Cards

I have a couple of cards to share today which I made using some of Stephanie Barnard's latest die releases for Sizzix.

This first card uses the Circle Flip-its #4, along with the Hello Sunshine Triplets set.
The layered words come in the Circle Flip-its die set.

My second card uses the sun and clouds from the Hello Sunshine Triplets set, with words and bird from the Spring Birds Triplets set.
The heart background is from the Sizzix Framelits 'Card with Lovely Sentiments Drop-ins' die set.

Purple Onion Design Bunny Circle Accordion Card

I love this combination of Purple Onion Design stamps on a Pop It Ups Circle Accordion card!
I mainly used My Mind's Eye 'Sky's the Limit' papers.

I used a die from the Square w/Circle Frame Edges set to cut the patterned paper borders. I backed the patterned paper with Elizabeth Craft Design Double Sided Tape, to make it really easy to adhere.

For the first panel, I stamped the heart bunting, and fussy cut patterned paper, sticking the hearts on with small foam pads.

For the second panel, I stamped the image on patterned paper, cut it out and stuck it on with small foam pads. I used the Copic spraypaint system to add some shadow first.

I used the same techniques for the third and fourth panels.

Pop It Ups Rectangle Pull Card with Purple Onion Design Bird Cage

I used the Pop It Ups Rectangle Pull Card to cut a pale pink card base, and used the die again for a patterned paper layer, which I trimmed down to fit.
I used rectangle dies from the Accordion Rectangle die set to create the orange and white layers for the card front, and for inside the card.
The stamps are from this set from Purple Onion Designs.

I used circle punches for the backgrounds for the birds and attached one of them to the pivot piece from the die set, so that it 'flies' a bit when the card opens.

I coloured the birdcage with Copics, and fussy cut patterned paper for the birds' bodies.
I added a fussy cut patterned paper heart to the cage and glued on ribbon.
