Katherine Label Happy New Year 2018 Pop-Up Window Card

Carrying on with my Happy 2018 cards, here's quite a simple Katherine Label Pop-Up card.
I used papers from American Crafts 'Fine and Dandy' 12x12 pad.
I used a scalloped border die from the Sizzix Triple Circle Flip-its die set, and made a frame for the card front opening using two nested label dies from the Katherine Label set.

Inside the card, I made another frame around the opening, and put a label on the moving part of the card, with a smaller label floating on foam pads behind it.
I decorated with some flowers cut from patterned papers in the Fine and Dandy pad.

I used 'Happy' from Karen Burniston's Word Set 2: Birthday Die Set, and '2018' from Neat and Tangled's Journaling Numbers die set.

Finally, I made an envelope to match.

My new year cards so far.

Happy 2018 Twist Panel Pop-Up Card

Happy Boxing Day!! It's a lovely peaceful day, with time for crafting!

I've been really busy studying for some assessments lately, and didn't send many Christmas cards, so I thought it might be nice to make some New Year cards instead.

This is for an American friend who loves books. I used some papers and stickers from the Front Porch range by American Crafts - a nice mixture of nature and books.
I used Karen Burniston's Twist Panel Pop-Up die set for the card base, which also includes the bunting flag dies.

For the first panel I added a tree from the Tree Pop-Up die set, and cut some leaf clumps, a few of which I coloured with Copics.
I used a 'Happy' die from the Word Set 2: Birthday Die set, and cut '2018' with Neat and Tangled's Journaling Numbers die set.

I love the mechanism of the Twist Panel card! Here it is when it first starts to open.

...and a little more open, as the panels start to twist into their upright position.

I added a strip of contrasting patterned paper along the bottom of the card, and left a blank panel to write a message on.

I made an envelope, and added some decoration to the card front.

The start of my Happy 2018 card project!

Butterfly Pivot Birthday Card

A lady from church asked if I would make a birthday card for her sister, so this is what I came up with.
I used the Elizabeth Craft Design Butterfly Pivot Card, along with the Butterfly Accessory Dies set, for the main pivoting butterflies.

At the side of the card, I used Happy Birthday dies from Marianne Designs, and smaller butterflies from the Tim Holtz 'Butterfly Frenzy' Decorative Strip.
I used White Opal Liquid Pearls for the smaller butterfly bodies, and added some swirls from the Tim Holtz 'Festive Greenery' Decorative Strip.

For the card front I used some sheer ribbon and an old metal butterfly charm from my stash.

Karen Burniston's Design Team Challenge - Pop-Up Christmas Tree Card

Hi all! It's Karen Burniston's Design Team Challenge day again, and the theme this month is 'Trees, Please!'
For my card I used the Christmas Tree Pop-Up die set - I absolutely love how this set creates a goregous pop-up tree so easily!

The whole tree folds down flat - it's so clever!
I decorated the tree with red Glitter Dots from Elizabeth Craft Designs, and the star and tree base dies all come in the Christmas Tree Pop-Up set.

You can see the construction more in the picture below.
The patterned paper is from October Afternoon, and I used a border die from the Sizzix Triple Circle Flip-its Card dies set.
I used two nesting circle dies for around the base of the tree, and cut the gold card circle in half before sticking it down, so that there would be less bulk when the card folds.
I used a fineline glue applicator to stick down the Christmas words, which are from Karen's Word Set 3 - Holiday die set.

For the card front, I used the same scalloped border die as inside the card, and hand cut a couple of ornaments from the patterned paper.

The Stamps of Life Pillow Boxes

I just wanted to show you a load of pillow gift boxes I made a while back, using the super Exclusive Pillow Box Die Set from The Stamps of Life.

The die is great, and made making this many really easy.

I decorated them with flowers made with Stampin' Up punches, an old stamen punch, and Nuvo Gloss Crystal Drops for the flower centres. I filled the boxes with mint chocolates and gave them to friends.

Tag Book Pop-Up Birthday Card

Life has been pretty manic lately, but I was determined to make some time for card making last night! For this card I used Karen Burniston's Tag Book Pop-Up die set, and decorated it with dies that come in the set, and also flowers and leaves from Karen's Flowers and Bee die set.

The patterned papers are all from My Mind's Eye's 'Cambridge Court' 6x6 pad, with solid card stock from Stampin' Up. I used Nuvo gloss Crystal Drops for the flower centres.

For the 'Happy Birthday', I used Karen's Word Set 2 - Birthday Die Set, layered twice.

And finally, I decorated the card front with more flowers and leaves, and some pom pom trim from Stampin' Up.

Karen Burniston / Riley and Company 'Crazy Cat Lady' Pop Up Card

I just wanted to share this slightly daft card I made using some dies from Karen Burniston.
I used the Cupcake Pop-Up die set for the pop-up mechanism, to which I attached a stamp which I love, from Riley and Company.

I used the Tim Holtz Stamp Platform for my stamping, and also stamped onto patterned paper and did some fussy cutting for the woman's dress.
I printed out the sentiment from my computer.

I added some cats from one of Karen's new releases - the Cat and Dog set, and accessorised them using dies from another of her new releases - the Tiny Accessories 1 set!

The patterned papers are from Authentique's 'Fabulous' 6x6 pad, and the scalloped edge die is from the Sizzix Triple Circle Flip-its die set.

Sizzix & Cricut Pop-Up Tractor Christening Card

This probably isn't your typical Christening card, but I was asked to make it by my farmer friend who's friends have decided to have their little boy Christened.
I used the Sizzix Pop n Cuts Horizontal A2 Card with Circle Label for the base, and a tractor from the Cricut Boys Will Be Boys cartridge.

For the background I used Papertrey Ink clouds, sun from L'il Inkers, and the stitched hills and cloud layer from Karen Burniston's Nature Edges die set.
I printed out the sentiment and used some Sizzix Framelits for the sentiment layers.

Karen Burniston Tag Book Pop-Up Cupcake Birthday Card

Karen Burniston's new Autumn 2017 Mini Release is now available! It includes a great Tag Book Pop-up die set, which I used for this card.

The set comes with loads of lovely decorator dies, such as the tags, bunting flags, hole reinforcers, frames, hearts and paper clips.

I also used some cupcake dies from Karen's Cupcake Pop-up die set, and a stamp from Stampin' Up's Cupcake Party. I used the Tim Holtz Stamping Platform, and used the stamp in two halves.

You can see the card design better here. In spite of looking quite complex, it's actually quite simple to put together.

I repeated the theme of the card on the front.

Karen Burniston November Design Team Challenge - Gingerbread House Christmas Card

It's Karen Burniston's Design Team Challenge time again, and this month the theme is 'Gingerbread'!!
I've made a few gingerbread house cards over the years, because I love them, and I just couldn't resist this time either!
Karen has the most beautiful House & Fence Pop-up die set which I used for this card.
I used craft card stock, sponged with Tea Dye Distress Ink and 'iced' with White Opal Liquid Pearls, for most of the decorative elements.
The patterned paper is from First Edition's Christmas Wishes 12x12 pad.

I covered the floating floor with white glitter card, added borders to the top and bottom of the card, and used a die from the Katherine Label Pop-up die set, for the sentiment backing. The larger heart is also from this set. The 'Merry Christmas' is from the Word Set 3 - Holiday die set.

I also added bows to the fence, adapted from the Birthday Charms die set, and a little gingerbread man and trees from the Winter Charms die set. I hand cut a little bow tie for him.

To the top border, I also added some ribbon, Stampin' Up twine and Stampin' Up mini jingle bells.
I made a snowy hillside by cutting out by hand the slots to fit round the pop-up mechanisms, from some glitter card, and cutting the top stitched border with a die from the Nature Edges die set.

For the card front, I added another label from the Katherine Label Pop-up die set, and the larger gingerbread man form the Winter Charms die set.

I had such a good time creating this little scene!
