Sizzix Animal Portraits Part 2 - Rabbit Oval Flip-its Hello Card

This is the second card which I made in this set... I used the Flip-its Scallop Oval Card die set, along with the rabbit, this time, from Sizzix's 'Animal Portraits' Thinlits die set. I used loads of foam pads for dimension, hand cut the bunting flags, and used Reverse Confetti's 'Hello' die.

The background papers were old ones from my stash, and the stripey rabbit paper was from a My Favorite Things 6x6 pad.

I just enjoyed making these cards so much!!

Karen Burniston Tree Pop-Up Thank You Card with Tim Holtz Memoranda Papers

For this card I used Karen Burniston's Tree Pop-Up Die Set, to create a soft coloured card with a really dimensional tree. I also used the Nature Edges Die Set for the clouds and grass.
I used all papers from Tim Holtz's Memoranda 12x12 pad.

For the tree, I used the leaf layer die behind the tree trunk, and cut smaller leaf portions to layer with foam pads, on top of the branches.

For the sentiment, I used the Thanks die from Word Set 1: Greetings Die Set, and a label from the Katherine Label Pop-Up Die Set. The tag and heart are from the Twist Panel Pop-Up Die Set.

The card front is quite simple, with more papers from Tim Holtz's Memoranda 12x12 pad.

Sizzix Animal Portraits Part 1 - Bear Oval Flip-its Hello Card

This was such a happy card to make, and is why I love Sizzix - fast, easy Flip-its card base, and big, bold, simple dies. This card literally took about 15 minutes to make, and it makes me smile!

I used the Flip-its Scallop Oval Card die set, along with the bear from Sizzix's 'Animal Portraits' Thinlits die set. I used loads of foam pads for dimension, hand cut the bunting flags, and used Reverse Confetti's 'Hello' die.

The patterned papers for the card panels were from Stampin' Up, and the stripey bear paper was from a My Favorite Things 6x6 pad.

I'll have a couple of future blog posts giving more details of the other two matching cards I made!

Karen Burniston's New Design Team First Challenge - House & Fence New Home Card

So, if you hadn't already heard, Karen Burniston of Sizzix Pop 'n Cuts and Elizabeth Craft Designs Pop It Ups fame now has her own die company, KB Riley LLC! All of Karen's new die designs are as ingenious and fun to use as ever!!

I'm happy to say that I'm on the Design Team for Karen's new company, where we will be having a Design Team Challenge on the first Tuesday of every month.
The theme for our first ever challenge is 'Signature Style', so I decided to use a mixture of patterned papers, and create a little scene, incorporating bunting somewhere!

I used Karen's new House & Fence Pop-Up die set, which includes all the dies for creating this gorgeous little house. I used some paper backed hessian, and papers from Crate Paper's 'Oh Darling' 6x6 pad.
I created some greenery in the front garden using the Nature Edges die set, and added flowers from the Tree Pop-Up die set, with Bubblegum Blush Nuvo Crystal Drop centres.
I also used the Nature Edges dies for the hill and cloud layers in the background.

I also added a little path, made using another die that comes in the House & Fence set.
For the sentiment I used a 'Happy' die from Karen's Word Set 2: Birthday die set, some alphabet stamps, and a label from the Katherine Label Pop-Up die set.

The fence die also comes in the House & Fence set. I added two lengths to the front of the raised platform (more about that in a minute), folding one section back to make a gate. I added grass from the Nature Edges die set, and made a mini sign and length of bunting.

The House & Fence set comes with a die that creates a 'floating floor'. It's simple to make, and creates a pop-up section for the house (or anything else) to attach to, and two tabs which I attached the greenery to. Having the raised floor means that the tabs fold down flat when the card is closed.

The card front.

So anyway, I'm excited to be on Karen's new Design Team, and can't wait to be using more of her dies soon! You might like to take a look at all her new range, here!

Karen Burniston Woodland Animals Charm Accordion Hello Card

Here's a card I made using die sets from Karen Burniston's new company - with the Charm Accordion die set used for the card base, and Woodland Animals die set.

The Charm Accordion die set cuts a double panel, of which I used two for this card. I used a folded over strip of card stock along the back of the central fold to join the two halves of the card.

For the first two panels, I used a 'Hello' die from the Word Set 1: Greetings Die Set.
I used the squirrel from the Woodland Animals set, and patterned papers from Pink Paislee's Cedar Lane 6x6 pad.

For the second two panels, I cut a window with a die from the Charm Accordion set, a heart charm and jump ring also from the same die set, plus a fox from the Woodland Animal set.
The corner decoration die also comes with the Charm Accordion set.

For the card front I added a panel of patterned paper and some bunting. I used a Fineline glue applicator to stick Bakers Twine to little cardstock triangles I cut out by hand. I used more bunting inside the card to join the floating panels together.

This die set cuts a smaller sized panel than Karen's older Accordion dies - I just wanted to show you what a gorgeously cute size the card turns out!

Concord and 9th 'Happy Day' 60th Birthday Card

It seems to happen every year, that while I'm away over the summer and have no access to crafting stuff, I take to looking at craft products online and do a 'little bit' of online shopping!
One of my favourite new sets which I arrived home to, was the 'Happy Day' stamp set from Concord & 9th and matching die set.
I stamped it out a couple of times in Memento Tuxedo Black ink, and coloured one in with Copic pens, and coloured just the larger flowers in on the other stamped image.
I cut out the larger flowers I'd coloured, by hand, and stuck them onto the other image with foam pads.
The stamp set gives you loads of sentiment options for putting in the banner, and I made this card for Scott's Aunt, who we went to a big party for at the weekend, to celebrate her 60th.

For the banner, I just chopped cocktail sticks to the right length, and glued them on, using a Fineline glue applicator (nice and precise glue application!), and added the banner on foam pads.
Lastly I added the bow.
