Sizzix Framlits & Stamps Bugs Flip-its Cards

Just a couple of cards today using Stephanie Barnard's new Sizzix Bugs Framelits and Stamps set, with some Flip-its cards. It's a really cute set and a really good price!!

I used lovely bright papers from The Stamps of Life. This card uses the Sizzix Circle Flip-its #4 die set.

And here's the set used with the Triple Circle Flip-its card die set.

Purple Onion Designs Stamps Pop It Ups Rectangle Accordion Card

Here's a recent card of mine using Purple Onion Design stamps - 'Rosie' and the 'Home Sweet Home' set, teamed with the Accordion Rectangle die set from Elizabeth Craft Designs.

I stamped the images onto papers from First Edition's 'Bella Rose' 12x12 pad, and cut them out by hand. I added 'Happy Birthday' die cuts from Paper Smooches, and inked round the edges of the Accordion frames.

Lastly I just added a bow and some paper flowers to the frames

Dutch the Fox Tags Pivot Card

Here's another card I made for Els of Elizabeth Craft Designs to take to a Trade show  in Japan. It needed to be a simple, 'cute' character card, and I used the Tags Pivot Card die set for the base, along with Dutch the Fox. I used tags and hole reinforcers from the Tags Pivot set, and a border from the Paris Borders set.

I thought I'd try out some non-traditional fox colours!
I also added a speech bubble from the Lorna Label PopUp set, and 'hello' from the Rectangle Accordion set.

I kept the card front quite simple, and added some ECD flowers.

Purple Onion Designs & Sizzix Flip-its 40th Birthday Card

It seems to be 40th birthday season at the moment! Quite a few of my friends have celebrated theirs lately, and this card is for another friend next week. Mine's in two weeks...

I used the Sizzix Square Flit-its #2 for the card base, and Stampin' Up patterned paper.
The stamps are from Purple Onion Designs: 'Chloe' and 'Stacked Gifts', and the glitter numbers are die cut with a Stampin' Up/Sizzix Alphabet set.

I partly coloured the stamps with Copics, and partly paper pieced them. I hand cut them out, and stuck them down with foam pads.

Lastly I stamped a sentiment and layered it.

Sock Monkey Accordion Circle Birthday Card - April's Designer Challenge

Well I've been back from America for three days now, and it's been a case of jet lag (and keeping 4 kids with jet lag - one of them ill - on an even keel), slipped disc problems with my back, unpacking, washing, and sorting out the HUGE amount of hassle that results from having loads of our stuff stolen while in San Francisco! (We did have an amazing trip apart from that though!!)

Anyway, a morning of loud upbeat music, sunshine, and card making with bright colours has me smiling again :)

This is my card for Karen Burniston's April Designer Challenge... to make an Accordion card. I used the Accordion Circle Card, Happy Birthday from the Happy Birthday PopUp die set, and adapted Honey the Bear into a sock monkey!

I used Adhesive Velvet from Elizabeth Craft Designs for the Happy Birthday.
For my sock monkey, I hand cut a mouth piece, added lips from the Props 1 set, and hand cut some new longer arms and a tail.

I added some K&Co stickers to the third panel, and made some simple candles from paper straws, with hand cut flames, for the last panel.

Elizabeth Craft Designs Pop Up Beach Card Tutorial

Hi everyone! I had this tutorial featured on the Elizabeth Craft Design Blog a little while ago... I would have posted it sooner, but I've just got back to England after being in America for a couple of weeks, where our car was broken into, and my laptop stolen! (Amongst many other things!) I did buy a new laptop in America, but couldn't remember my blog password!

So anyway...

After a long, grey British winter, I'm looking forwards to some warmth and sunshine! Karen’s latest dies really called to me, and I came up with this bright beach scene. I made a fun ‘Aloha’ card, but it could easily be used as a Happy Vacation, Bon Voyage, or summer birthday card.

INSTRUCTIONS:

1. Cut pale turquoise cardstock to 11”x 6”. Fold cardstock in half, and die cut with the Lots of Pops die. Emboss the top half of the card with the Clouds embossing folder. (You will need to emboss it twice to cover the width. There will be an ‘edge line’ showing, but this will mainly be covered up later.)

2. Cut yellow cardstock to 6”x 5.5”. Cut half of the Lots of Pops die into one of the 6” sides. Use the wave border from the Beach Edges die set to cut approx. 1” from the other 6” side.
Adhere the yellow cardstock to the bottom half of the turquoise card base.

3. Cut all the pieces as pictured below: Clouds (from the All Seasons Tree set), sun (using a small circle punch), trees, bucket and spade (from the Palm Tree & Pail set), banners (from the Lots of Pops set), ‘ALOHA’ (from the Alphabet 1- Caps set), diving gear (from Props 3 set), heart (using a small heart punch) and a hand cut towel (measuring 2”x 3”).

4. Cut all the pieces as pictured below: Owl parts (from Poppy the Owl set), sunglasses and bow (from Props 1 set), bikini top (using a tiny circle punch) and a hand cut bikini skirt.

5. Adhere clouds and sun. Assemble trees and adhere to the Lots of Pops side tabs. Tie some twine to both the trees, and glue the banners over the twine, as pictured below.

6. Adhere the owl parts together as pictured below.

7. Adhere the beach equipment, and ‘ALOHA’ as pictured below. (Trim the edge off the towel.)

8. For the outside of the card, fold a 6”x 6” piece of patterned paper in half, and die cut through the top edge of both sides with the small palm tree border (from the Beach Edges set). Cut two bright pink cardstock strips of 6” x .5”, and adhere everything to the outside of the card as pictured below.

Quite a few steps, but great fun if you enjoy playing with paper!!
I hope you feel inspired to create your own beach scene!

Helen
